STRICT HYGIENE! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  • INHALATION
    		• Pupillary constriction, muscle cramp, excessive salivation. Sweating. Nausea. Vomiting. Dizziness. Convulsions. Unconsciousness.
    		Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Pain (further see Inhalation).
    		Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain. Blurred vision.
    		Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Abdominal cramps. Vomiting Diarrhoea. (see inhalation).
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
    		Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Rest. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT wash away into sewer. Chemical protection suit including self-contained breating apparatus.
    		Separated from food and feedstuffs. Dry.
    		Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     YELLOW LIQUID OR WHITE CRYSTALS , WITH PUNGENT ODOUR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating, on contact with acids, bases, producing toxic and corrosive fumes including hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide, phosphorous oxides. Reacts with water. Attacks metal, plastic, rubber and coatings.

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
     TLV: ppm; 3 mg/m3 A4 (skin) (ACGIH 1996).


    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air will not or will only very slowly be reached on evaporation of this substance at 20░C; on spraying or dispersing, however, much faster.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the nervous system , resulting in convulsions, respiratory failure. Cholinesterase inhibitor. Exposure may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

    NOTES
    Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated. Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available. Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties. Bromex, Dibrom and Orthodibrom are trade names.
